Here is a partial collection of photos of items that I have collected over the last 10 + years.
I must now auction them / sell them , to pay for the two ER visits, upcoming, surgeon visits, and eventual surgery.
If you feel like you can give any of this art a good home……please let me know and know that your purchase goes to getting me fixed right this time.
Surgery is now scheduled for this Monday in Gainesville, a specialist will be fixing an incarcerated / strangulated hernia. (that is if we can raise 50% of the total)
If you would like to contribute some of your own art to be auctioned / sold off to help with this fund…PLEASE send all Artistic contributions to
Gemstone and Bead
Attn: Jessica Boggs

Please enclose a note in or on the box that says “Glow Joe’s Surgery Fund” as she is working on a few other separate funds right now, and this will help avoid confusion.
If you would like more info on how to help, please contact me here via PM or phone 928-458-6595

Thank you all for your love and support.
I have had 3 operations to my abdominal area in the past 5 years, they have all been associated with a hernia, or a failed repair from a previous operation associated with a hernia.
I have been experiencing severe pain from the area of the previous operation, so begrudgingly went to the Shands ER in Gainesville. (After calling a couple local surgeons that refused to see me BECAUSE I’ve been operated on in the same location three times and was told by all and more that the only place for help of this nature is Shands Teaching Hospital Gainesville)
I have been to the ER twice in the last week (last Monday and Friday) on Monday I was discharged (without pain meds) with a “Hernia” which THEY CHOSE not to operate on because it is “an elective operation that is not an Emergency”.
Funny that…in Arizona…2 years ago with the same complaint…..The ER operated on me immediately….oh yeah….in Arizona….I had Insurance…….big difference.
Friday I went back in (Surgical center told me it could help) I requested and MRI so they could at least look properly at the site of pain…..No…they discharged me with “Unknown Abdominal Pain”.
Today, I call the Surgical Center and am told that my case has gone “to review” and I could hear something back from them as early as this Friday.
All funds go to paying my 2 ER visits, upcoming Surgeons visits and the surgery, prescriptions, and associated medical bills from this “experience”.
It is my goal to raise the majority of these funds by selling my art glass collection and finding each piece a happy new home.
ANY funds left over when all the bills from this “experience” are paid, I will happily donate to Beads of Courage to help them carry on with their mission.
Thank you for your love and support.

Here is a blog written with a lotta love from Marcy Lamberson:
My buddy, Joe Imler (Glow Joe) needs surgery and to pay for it, he is selling off his marble and glass collection, while others are donating glass art/beads/cash to add to his fund.
Joe is a cool guy. His Glow Powders are used by soft glass artists as well as his new rods for boro workers. I’ve always loved glow in the dark items and Joe is the one who has brought it to our glass world.
Well bleeep it, he needs a little help from his friends. It’s time to put on your shopping hats or donating if you prefer and help get Joe out of his painful situation.
Hop on over to his website that he’s set up specifically for the surgery fund, http://www.lapissolaris.com and join in the fun. I’ve already bought one piece and I’m still debating over another.
And of course I had to show this one Lewis Wilson piece that just makes me drool. It’s out of my budget, (and my birthday is nowhere close by), so I thought I’d post it in case someone who can afford it, can scoop it up.
See you tomorrow for more creativity, inspiration and glass chat right here, http://www.studiomarcy.blogspot.com

For those that have not seen my scattered updates, here is the scoop from the squeaky wheel:
I went to the appointment on Wednesday and they did agree that there was an incarcerated / strangulated hernia in the same location as the previous (failed) operations. (belly /abdomen / core)
The Specialist agreed that I needed surgery and I needed it quick, so I go the EKG, Labs, etc all done there and am ready to go to Florida Medical at 11 AM Monday for the operation.
Now for the ridiculous part…..cost…..
As discussed before, I am uninsured so am referred to as a “self-pay” client, and given a 68% discount for paying cash.
The total cost for this 1 hour operation that HAS to be done by THIS specialist is $15,163.36 !!!!
Do the math…..that’s with a 68%discount……so if you have insurance? are you really getting any favors? jeesh!!!!!!
I must have 50% of this by 11AM Monday Morning when I walk in for that operation, which is why I have just about all of my retail /wholesale products on sale, have sent the majority of MY collected treasure of art glass from the past 10 years to Jessica Boggs who is creating an independent artistic website to handle the sales and collect donations for my fund and several others.
I have listed the items of art here in my possession at a new website www.lapissolaris.com
These items are all for sale and 100% of the funds raised go to my surgery fund and getting me healed correctly this time…..(fingers crossed)
These are pieces from my personal collection as well as pieces that have been donated by members of our very loving Art Glass Family.
We are constantly seeking more artistic donations to be sold towards this cause which can be sent to either myself or Jessica Boggs to be catalogued, photographed and loaded for sale on the websites.
Mailing info for donations is also available at www.lapissolaris.com
To make a financial donation please see http://pledgie.com/campaigns/8106
I know…..it might as well be a million dollars…….something tells me we can do this……..and I thank you all for your help!
Much Love and Thanks!
Joe

Tomorrow morning 11 am is the surgery……if we come up with the 50%
Every penny helps.
Please visit www.lapissolaris.com if you would like to purchase art to help us raise our goals rather than a straight donation.
