Support Mephisto!!!!

By technoweenie ( 87 Medal_silver_2 )

Mephisto as you is one of the best (if not the best) blogging system for ruby on rails (and possibly the world).
Even though Mephisto is used literally by hundreds nay thousands of blogs and custom websites on the internet very few people feel the need to contribute actual money to this excellent project.

I know that Rick and Justin are passionate about Open Source software, but passion alone doesn’t make software. It is constant work, to track down and eliminate bugs, answer support emails, chat on the irc about install problems. It is important to support Mephisto so that they can continue to support it as well.

Well I am passing the hat ladies and gentleman; it is time that everyone pitches in an supports this great project with something other than “Diggs”! I have set a very reasonable goal of $250.00, which probably works out to $0.0025 a person if you look at the number of downloads this project recieves.

Lets keep Mephisto rocking!

Or maybe people will be like, “I wanna bust the goal even more!”, and donate more. :)

I transfered this campaign to technoweenie so that is why the description is not written in the first person and probably full of grammar mistakes.

$250?!?! I would say that’s nothing. I’m amazed people aren’t donating more generously for such a great piece of software….

(By the way, if it looks like I’m being a hippocrate and haven’t donated myself, it’s because I didn’t realise I needed to create an account before making my donation. I assumed I would be asked to create an account as part of the donation process.)

Is it possible to link a donation to my account or is it too late?

Mark Daggett said:

hey luciddesign, yes we are adding functionality to toggle your donations from between “anonymous” and “your name” very soon. And technically, you don’t need an account to donate (as you proved yourself ;-) )

I think you should donate the money towards helping the earth with the global warming problem.
