Care for Allen

Allen Hagler, a beloved actor and member of the Atlanta theatre community, was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. He has a malignant mass where his esophagus meets his stomach which has metastasized into his liver.

You may be unaware that Allen, like so many in this country, had an hourly wage job and employers who truly love him but could not provide health care benefits. At this time, Allen is physically unable to work. Facing what he will with oncology and pain management care and no income, you can imagine the nightmare that this is.

Allen is stoic and stubborn and would fight any efforts to help him financially. Nonetheless, Working Title Playwrights has convinced him to allow his great community of friends to support him as we may—we apologize for loving him.

Already some fundraising has taken place and received an overwhelmingly positive response – thank you to all involved for making this happen! But more help is needed. As we move into the season where thoughts turn to peace on earth and goodwill to men, please consider, “Hagler for the Holidays”.
