My name is Jordan Burbank and I am an independent filmmaker currently attempting to put together my first feature film. This film is a documentary that is in its early stages and we need to get it off the ground. We plan to discuss the issue that many people are unaware of in our society which is the MSM Blood Ban, and the INABILITY OF bleeep MEN TO DONATE BLOOD because of an FDA regulation that should no longer hold merit in our society.

With less than 5% of eligible candidates donating blood annually, there should not be any type of ban that would allow perfectly healthy individuals from saving a life.

We intend to help with public awareness about the banning of the homosexual community from allowing them to save the lives of thousands of people who are in need of blood donation. We plan to take a deep look into the world of blood transfusions in an attempt to get to the bottom of why the FDA has banned certain individuals from the process when the Red Cross has publicly endorsed the legalization for homosexuals to actively take part. However, recent events in February of 2009, show the FDA once again voting 7 to 6 to keep the 1983 blood ban in place.

We will choose a bleeep individual in peak physical and medical condition to take us on a journey in an attempt to donate blood. We will follow him through his process of denial from the system, and learn as he conducts interviews with people working at blood donation centers, men who have been banned from donating blood or vital organs to their loved ones, students who have protested against blood drives at their colleges because of its discrimination. We also hope to get in contact with either leading officials in Spain or Italy, where the blood ban has begun a leniency on the MSM act, as well as leaders of the Red Cross, HHS, and FDA. From there we would also like to take to the streets and speak to the public to see how informed they are about the ban that is still in place.
Lastly, we will attempt to contact Susan Doe, a woman who fought to have a bleeep male donate sperm for artificial insemination in Ontario, Canada. Canada has banned sperm donation since 1977 and they refuse to retract the law. We will look to interview Canadian leaders in the health departments.

We believe it will be an educational and beneficial process to find out how many people are truly aware of multiple donation requirements and bans, as well receive their opinions on what they think of the FDA’s regulations.
