Help support my journeys around the country, pair-programming in exchange for room and board and recording video interviews with people about their thoughts on software development:
http://programmingtour.blogspot.com/
While traveling, I also capture people’s stories concerning how they got started in programming:

Support goes toward covering my expenses. These include standard expenses, such as mortgage, car insurance, food and a reasonable quality of life, as well as travel-specific expenses, such as gas, airfare.
Extra money will go toward community-support in the form of code retreats, work on open source projects and speaking at user groups/conferences.
Here is the blog post explaining the campaign: http://programmingtour.blogspot.com/2009/08/hat-in-hand.html
This campaign has ended, no more pledges can be accepted.

Leon, that is a definite possibility. I’m looking now to head over to the UK next spring, possibly Scandinavia sometime, as well.

Mark, Kansas, eh? Well, I don’t have any concrete plans, but I’m currently in the planning stages for the next 6 months.
