<p>Hello everyone! I am not going to start out by sounding all sad and tell you I have this horrible tragedy… because I don’t have one to tell. I’m not homeless, I’m not starving to death, I’m not raising money for homeless children either. But what I am about to do is be truthful about why I am here… and it’s not to get a free ride for being a lazy mooch.</p>
<p>My name is Jessica and I am a 30 year old self-employed website developer. I have been with my husband, David (also 30), for 13 years and married for 3. David works for a commercial roofing company. We both have always pulled our own weight and worked hard for what we do have.</p>
<p>We rent a small home in Ohio which has been good to us for 5 years. The owners of this house have decided to sell so we have to make plans to move. Rather then rent again, we really want to buy our first home. We have never owned our own home before.</p>
<p>Now for the reason why I am here. We are asking for a little help to buy a house. I am not asking for someone else to pay for the entire home so I can kick back and take advantage. I was in a car accident back in December and have received a decent settlement from it. We also have money we have put away in savings. It’s not enough to buy a good house though. Only enough to buy a broken down house in a bad neighborhood. So I am just trying to find a way to make up the difference that we don’t have to rent again. And I’m not talking about a fancy new house either. We are just looking for a fixer-upper that is in a safe neighborhood. We will do all of the rehab on the home ourselves and put our own sweat and tears into it. It’s just getting it that’s holding us back.</p>
<p>You might ask why we don’t finance the house…</p>
<p>David’s employer hasn’t been doing to well in this declining economy. They have only been scheduling him a few hours here and there, forcing him to file for unemployment periodically. He works any time he can get hours and is always looking for side jobs.</p>
<p>Because of my car accident, I haven’t been making a ton of money either and being self-employed makes it hard to qualify for a loan. In addition, our credit isn’t good enough.</p>
<p>So basicly, we just can’t qualify for a loan.</p>
<p>Now I have read a lot of the other requests for help on here and I realize a lot of them sound like scams. I know I would be really hesitant to donate wondering if the “girl seeking help for college” was really some lazy fat slob making up lies and taking advantage of good people. Well, being a web developer, I have had a presence on the web for many years. I am who I say I am and am willing to prove it to anyone interested in helping. I am even willing to work for these donations so if you have any ideas, please let me know.</p>
<p>I see people spending their dollars here and there on things they don’t really need and feel that if enough people could help another who would really use it for a good purpose… that person’s dream could be reality. And what goes around comes around. I always give and help others and am hoping that karma will reflect that. If you made it this far, thank you so much for taking the time to hear me out.</p>
