Hi. I have a 5-year-old yorkie-poo named Chloe that I have had since she was 3 months old. She recently had incontinence problems and I took her to her regular vet. Good news is, the incontinence medicine worked and it's inexpensive, which is a good thing because we have been having recent financial troubles, and as soon as we think we are going to get ahead, my dog needs surgery.

I noticed she would limp after she got up from a nap or laying around for a while, and I thought she just laid on her leg wrong because she never limped for more than a minute, so I never worried about it too much, which now makes me feel like a horrible person. The vet told me that Chloe has a dislocated knee cap and that she will need surgery to fix it.

Since her exam, she tries not to bear weight on it, and he said that was normal with the injury. She has been limping after laying down for about 6 months now and the longer the bones are grinding together, the more they will wear down, and eventually they will wear down enough that her knee cap will move around even more, snapping in and out of place, and causing her more pain. Also, the injury makes her more prone to other leg injuries (and she is a jumper), and it may lead to arthritis which will cause even more pain, if left untreated, and possibly make her immobile. If arthritis sets in before surgery, prognosis includes pain, especially in the cold (which is sometimes harsh here in Indiana).

Please don't get me wrong. We work, and I have another job interview the day after Christmas. I am trying to do everything I legally can to get enough money saved up for her surgery, and in no way will any donations be spent differently. The surgery will cost us $1200. Please help save my dogs ability to walk. Even the smallest donations will add up. I don't care if it's only 5 cents. Every cent helps! Thank you very much.
