OK, here is my story. I’m 27 years old and currently live in Southern Illinois. I’m a single father of a beautiful seven year old little girl and have been working full-time at the same location for the past six years—little more than six years actually. My daughter’s mother and I separated in 2003 and I had to move back home and live with family. Before this I attended DeVry and worked toward my degree in computer information systems. When we separated I did not have any family where we were, it was all her family, so I decided it was in my best interest at the time to move back home and live with my family, so I could get things straight and once that was taken care of I would move closer to my daughter. It was a major life-goal to complete my college degree because 1.) I would be the first person in my immediate family, including my parents, to get my college degree (I was also the first to get my high school diploma), but 2.) I could assist in providing my daughter and myself with a little better life then I had growing up. My issue now is that I stuck with approximately $45,000 in student loan debt, plus thousands in medical bills, and I beginning to have trouble paying things back.
Yeah, I’m your average “John Doe”, but I stumbled upon this website because I had an idea to create a similar website where people could donate a dollar or whatever to different causes and if enough donated to each person then a dream could be realized. One dollar from many different people is much easier then coming up with all of it from one person. Just a way for each of us to help out where we could.
Anyway, I hope this helps you understand my situation a little better. If you have anymore questions you can reach me anytime.
Thank you for your time.
