)What is the Gnash V9 Summer Bash ?
The 2009 Gnash V9 Bash is a summer project designed to achieve a critical leap in version 9 free flash functionality by enlisting the help of student interns to hammer our way through a big stack of ActionScript3 (AS3) Class Libraries. Success will result in Gnash v9 (and v10) compatibility with a number of high-demand websites — including educational, major media, and other popular sites.
The free and open source community needs a viable alternative to proprietary Flash that offers freedom in creating and accessing web content – and freedom from long term dependency on a sole-source proprietary vendor.
