Some recent events led me to believe that in order to make Ruby the most awesome language community now and the future, we need to get more women and different perspectives and people involved.
This fund will stay open for a month and at the end will be donated to at least one (maybe more depending on the final total) to organizations or charities that bring Ruby and software development to children and women and minorities around the world.
To follow updates on the fund, or to suggest an organization. Follow AQ on twitter or check my blog.
Thanks for your help!
This campaign has ended, no more pledges can be accepted.

Do you have any ideas on which organizations might get the money, or are you still researching that part?

The Anita Borg Institute looks like it’s worth checking out (anitaborg.org).
