Caboose Rails Documentation Project

It seems like all the good writers are off writing Rails books. Unfortunately, the promise of fame and fortune has sucked the talent from the documentation pool, and the ruby on rails docs have fallen by the wayside.

The standard response from most coders I spoke to was "sure, I'd love to help, but I'm terribly busy." So, you're making a living from rails? You should consider putting up $10, or $50, or whatever, to fund a professional to spend some quality time alone with the API docs. We're aiming at $5,000 USD.

All the money received at this account will go towards paying one or more people to enhance the Ruby on Rails API. If you want some serious props, please attach your name or fire me an email and we'll publically celebrate everyone's contribution.

Thanks in advance! (Credit cards accepted..)

Hi guys. If you've missed it, we've been brainstorming how to spend that big wad of cash that's been burning up the documentation fund. If you haven't browsed the current suggestions and added your own input, please do so: http://caboose.stikipad.com/documentation/show/HomePage

We'd like to see something happen with this money so we're ready for proposals. If you are interested in being subsidized to help push the documentation in the right direction go ahead and tell us a little bit about yourself, why you're qualified to write documenation, and what you'd like to work on.

I think at the moment the consensus is that **we'd like at least one person working on the api directly**. That being said, your input matters. We'd like to do this out in the open and want the Rails community (and especially the donors) to participate.

Please do and please do [tell us how you'd like to help out. Feel free to point any tech writers this way as well.
