Our third fundraising micro-goal is to match Julie Sina’s donation to construct latrines at Dago Thim Primary School in Kisumu, Kenya.
Dago Thim currently has no working sanitation facilities for its 601 students, and former sanitation structures are a health and safety hazard on school grounds. Well-constructed and maintained latrines are vital to the overall health of the students at Dago Thim.

The goal amount is $430 (half of total cost of $860), and includes labor and material costs for sealing the openings of former latrine sites, and, labor and materials costs for digging of pits and construction of three new latrines. These latrines are to be reserved for student use.
| KSH /= | USD $ | |
|---|---|---|
| Materials | 35,000.00 | 500.00 |
| Labor | 25,000.00 | 360.00 |
| Digging pits | 15,000.00 | 215.00 |
| Construction | 10,000.00 | 145.00 |
| TOTAL | 60,000.00 | 860.00 |
After raising the funds, we will wire the money to our Kenyan partners, Tropical Focus, who will oversee the purchase of materials and construction of the latrines.
Once construction is complete and latrines are in use, we will send you pictures and or video and a detailed report about how your contribution was spent.
Many thanks for Julie Sina for the challenge of matching her generosity.
