A couple of years ago my father was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, a carcinoid tumor in his colon. He underwent immediate surgery during the christmas of 2004 where they removed a large amount of his bowels. Life after this has been a long winding road downards, and not being able to eat properly or retain fluids has made him so weak he can no longer work. The cancer had already spread to the liver when it was found, and now his liver is not able to clean his blood anymore and he goes in and out of coma due to the poisoning. My father used to work with strong solvents and plastics, which is what i think made him sick in the first place.
My father is only 57 years old.
Being a small town self-employed technician he didn’t have the money to invest in good health insurance which now means it gives him the absolute minimum support every month.
Hospital bills are piling up, and the bills and debt left from closing his firm are hard to pay.
I sat next to his bed at the hospital today, he was barely awake and I know he worries so much about all this, as well as at the same time facing his own mortality and ,short of a miracle, not being able to see his grandson grow up.
My mother has a very low income working as an assistant to handicapped children, I wish I had more monetary means to help him so I can tell him it’s going to be alright. I still tell him it’s going to be alright, but I wish i could be more sincere in that claim.
His current debt is about 9000€ and this is what I need to raise for him.
I hope You will find it in Your heart to help my father, every contribution counts and will go unshortened to pay off his financial debt and provide him with the relief he so much needs in this very hard time.
I wish i could have a pledge for his health, but i ask you to give him a mention in your prayers, his name is Henric. Prayers work, but money is also sorely needed at this time.
God bless you all for reading this far, and thank you so much for your contribution.
I’m going to print a list for him and take it to the hospital so he can see every one of you who have contributed.
My deepest gratitude,
Joachim
