Dear users of ati-amd flgrx drivers, and especially openSUSE one.
We need you to help Sebastien Siebert (freespacer) http://www.sebastian-siebert.de/ to get new hardware.
Sebastian is the officially packaging script maintainer of AMD Catalyst for openSUSE. Don’t get wrong about the “title”, it’s a free contribution he makes on his spare time, and own hardware.
That job help lot’s of us to get a ati-installer-xxx.run that works out of the box for our beloved distribution. He’s also contributing with his own make-rpm script (see his blog).
Think a bit about it next time you run ati-installer-xxx.run SuSE/SUSE-xxxx
We need to provide him a HD69xx and a second screen, so he will be able to test the drivers against those new chipset too, and also all kind of multi-monitors configuration.
The price for the graphics card is around 360€ and a second screen is 250€ (sorry VAT is expensive in Germany)
We budget the pledge at 650€ (3% goes to pledgie)
If we share that between the 14000 unique users of the rpm I deliver by linux.ioda.net/mirror/ati/ it will cost to each only a 0.05€!
I really hope that most of you will join so he can have this before openSUSE conference.
The three most generous donor, will win each one a openSUSE high-end usb key, loaded with their preferred desktop ( factory Gnome3 snapshot ) or KDE4 reloaded 11.4
This campaign has ended, no more pledges can be accepted.
