GoLightly is an open source toolkit for developing language runtimes based on flexible and scalable virtual machine technology. GoLightly is implemented with the Go language from Google and is designed to facilitate efficient concurrency, providing a platform suited to the hardware of the 21st Century. If GoLightly sounds like the kind of technology you’d like to see realised, I’d love to receive your donations. As of July 2011 I’ve worked full-time on GoLightly and related projects for twenty months, funded mainly by living on Ramen noodles and the occasional public speaking gig. With your help I hope to extend this period until GoLightly reaches a stable release whilst adding some much-needed protein back into my diet. Your donations will pay for the prosaic expenses involved in full-time development: keeping a roof over my family’s heads; putting food on our table; buying equipment; travelling to conferences and user-group meetings. Every donation matters, no matter how small.
