This memorial scholarship fund has been established with the help of friends and family to honor the life and career of Matt Puchlerz as a very talented web designer and developer.
At twenty-six years old Matt suddenly passed away leaving a huge void. He is survived by his wife of one-year, Carrie, his parents, Dennis and Roberta, his brother and many friends throughout the Chicago Tech Community.
One of Matt’s digital media teachers from Starpoint High School, has helped with establishing this scholarship. She still uses examples of Matt’s work from high school in her classes today. We have a goal to raise $5,000 to be given to a Starpoint Graduate who will continue their education in the field of web design or digital media arts.
Â
The first scholarship that will be awarded at the Senior Awards Ceremony in May.

Matt was a great team member at Killswitch, employee and awesome human being. Killswitch will match the $5000 once it’s raised, to make 2 scholarships available instead of just one. Let’s make this happen.

Matt was an amazing guy. He designed several things for us at PBS, including Peer Connection (http://PBS.org/peerconnection) I have rarely encountered such talent, and even more rarely encountered such a nice guy to work with. He was one of the greats. I miss him. It’s nice to know I’m in good company.

I worked with Matt directly for 6 or 7 months. He’s one of the brightest, nicest, most humble guys I’ve ever met. Truly brilliant at his craft and genuine in character. He wanted to found his own school to teach web development the right way. Let’s do what we can to further his vision.
